History:
Once there was a war. A colony's declaration for independence triggered a conflict between the Earth Federation and the Space Revolutionary Army. The war lasted for eight months, stalemate as both armies foiled each other from gaining an upper hand. Finally, the SRA made a desperate gamble in war diplomacy: they demanded the Earth's surrender by using the threat of a huge number colony drop that would bring great casualties as well as destroying the Earth in the process.

The Federation counterattacked using their secret weapon: the Mobile Suit Gundams. GX-9900 along with its unmanned Newtype controlled counterparts the G-Bits, were armed with the Satellite Cannon, with young Newtype Jamil Neate at the helm. The GX was specifically designed to destroy Colonies...

But the GX failed, and the battle led to the greatest tragedy of history. Driven by the desire to win, the SRA continued their operation, destroying the homeland planet and killed 99% of the Earth's population. And so the war reached its conclusion, but with no winners or losers.

Fifteen years later… the Earth is still recovering from the long nuclear winter. The survivors of this catastrophe were forced to live in these harsh conditions, having no other choice in this matter. The Newtypes were all but annihilated and the governments of both parties lost most of their strength from the war.

The calendar year is 0015 After War. Anarchy and chaos thrived, and the people decided to pick up the leftovers from the last era. A group called Vultures scavenge old technology and would sell it to the populace. As the Earth and its people slowly recover  their lives, the Federation and the SRA were also regaining their old power, determined to finish the battle  that almost destroyed the world.


A Gundam Flop?
Gundam X was, unfortunately, not very popular in Japan. Thus, like the Mobile Suit Gundam (was supposed to be aired 52 episodes but was toned down to 43 episodes instead. How ironic), was cut from its supposed 49 episodes run. Why is it so? Many speculated was that the GX series was moved from a comfortable Friday afternoon to a Saturday morning timeslot in the middle of its run. Others say is that during that time, the audience have forgotten the old UC storyline, since the 7th Space War was derived from the One Year War. Or that the Japanese audience were sick and tired  of the word Gundam itself. Or that other anime series (Shin Seiki Evangelion and Tenkuu no Escaflowne are being shown around this time) overshadowed it. Nevertheless, GX had met a bad reputation because of being cut, which I think it's unjust and unfair.
